The Phrase I'll Never Forget
Exactly one month ago, a phrase was put on social media that has lived rent free in my head ever since.
I’ve thought about it every day - every couple of hours honestly - for an entire month.
A whole civilization will die tonight
I don’t know why those specific words were so striking.
The president has used aggressive language as a bargaining tactic for years. That’s not new.
The president doesn’t have a lot of love or respect for people from countries with predominantly non-white citizenry. That’s been clear for a long time.
The president has made threats about annihilating countries before. I’m sure many of us remember “Fire and fury like the world has never seen.”
Still…
A whole civilization will die tonight
Make a deal with us, the people who have been bombing you for a month, or your children, your babies, and your grandparents will all be killed by our most lethal explosives.
Make a deal with us, or we’ll make sure your buildings, homes, and businesses in the middle of the desert don’t have heat or cooling.
Make a deal with us, or we’ll make sure your water supply is contaminated, and those who don’t die immediately from bombs will slowly die of dehydration and poisioning.
Make a deal with us, or any bridges that can get clean water, food, and resources to your people in need will be unusable, and your people will slowly die of starvation.
A whole civilization will die tonight.
He wrote that.
He said it in the hopes that it would scare Iranian leaders into giving in to his demands.
A death threat - no, a genocide threat - from the president that the pro-life crowd considers God’s Chosen One™
I was angry but not surprised by the lack of response from the likes of Franklin Graham, Robert Jeffress, etc.
“Salty language bad, death threats fine” was the gist of their responses.
Terrible. But not surprising.
A whole civilization will die tonight
Even writing it now, it’s truly shocking.
Horrifying.
He’s said and done a lot of terrible things over the last ten years.
But this one…
I’m never going to forget this one.

You may or may not agree with thiis, but I choose to think of this rhetoric (A Spewing of Nonsense)...from this president as Idle talk that He seems to have a problem with backing up his Idle threats, which is to why I choose to Laugh at it! For He not Knows of what he speaks! Yes, our Words can have severe Consequences, However coming from This President,....I Laugh at His Foolishness!
It carries the weight of, “We will annihilate every human and all they hold dear as a people. We won’t just kill you, we’ll forget your people ever existed. Because we can.” It is despicable and flippant in the same breath. Horrific.
