I was going to bring my daughter to a basketball game this week. She got sick that morning, with what we thought was the stomach flu. (It was norovirus. We didn't know that yet.) She sadly couldn't go. None of the rest of us showed any symptoms, so we figured we were all okay.
First, Holiday Vomit = the Worst Vomit. I'm so sorry. Second, I found myself tearing up at the tender description of how you took care of your son in the way home. What a picture of God's love, I think... shivering in the cold.
